Abstract
Plastiku susrećemo tijekom cijelog našeg života, od ambalaže za hranu koju kupujemo, do računala s kojima radimo i automobila koje vozimo. Mnoge plastike s kojom smo u dodiru su jednokratne uporabe te se odlažu u prirodi. U oceanima se nalazi oko 269 000 tona plastike što predstavlja veliku prijetnju morskom okolišu. Ako se odlaganje plastike u mora nastavi u ovolikim količinama, predviđa se kako će za 30 godina u moru biti više plastike nego riba. U ovom radu će se prikazati kvalitativan i kvantitativan utjecaj plastike na morski okoliš, dat će se prikaz ekspedicije Richarda Thompsona, oceanskih vrtloga, te objasniti kako rješiti problem u oceanima.
Abstract (english)
We meet plastic throughout our lives, from the food packaging we buy, to the computers we workwith and the cars we drive. Large amount of plastic we are in contact with are disposable and is disposed in nature. There are about 269,000 tonnes of plastic in the oceans, posing a major threatto the marine environment. If the landfill of plastic in the sea continues in such quantities, it is predicted that 30 years from now there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. This thesis will present the quantitative and qualitative impact of plastic on the marine environment, present an expedition of Richard Thompson, ocean vortex, and explain how to solve the problem of plastic in oceans.
