Abstract
U ovome se radu pokušava pobliže opisati potrese koji su se dogodili u Nepalu 2015. godine. U radu se pozornost naročito usmjerava na uzroke i posljedice tih potresa te njihovu jačinu, intenzitet i djelovanje. Upoznajemo se sa seizmičkom aktivnošću na području Himalaja i potresima koji se pojavljuju te obilježjima potresa općenito. Sudaranjem dviju tektonskih ploča koje se događa već nekoliko desetaka milijuna godina unazad, zbog približavanja i sudaranja Indijske ploče sa Euroazijskom, na području Himalaja se pojavljuju veoma značajni potresi. Od potresa koji su se prošle godine dogodili u Nepalu, izdvojili smo dva najsnažnija. Prvi potres kojem se pridaje važnost dogodio se 25. travnja nedaleko grada Khudi, jačine 7.8. Drugi važni potres nastupio je 12. svibnja nedaleko graničnog područja Kodari, a njegova jačina iznosi 7.3. Spoznalo se da su potresi međusobno povezani i da se vjerojatnost njihovog pojavljivanja može pretpostaviti. Vođeni tom činjenicom, teži se pripremiti na djelovanje potresa kako bi se spriječio veliki broj ljudskih žrtava i materijalnog oštećenja.
Abstract (english)
In this paper, an attempt is to closer describe earthquakes which happened in Nepal in the year 2015. The attention is particularly focused on causes and consequences of these earthquakes and their magnitude, intensity and activity. We introduce with the seismic activity in the area of Himalayas and earthquakes which appear, but also with the characteristics of earthquakes in general. By the collision of two tectonic plates which is happening in the past tens of millions of years, because of the convergence and collision of Indian plate with Euroasian, on the area of Himalayas appear very significant earthquakes. From the earthquakes which happened in Nepal in the last year, the most attention is given to two of them. First important earthquake occured on April 25 near the town Khudi, with the magnitude of 7.8. The second one occured on May 12 by the border area of Kodari, with the magnitude of 7.3. It is realized that earthquakes are interconnected and the probability of their occurrence can be predicted. By this fact, the wish is to be prepared for seismic actions and to prevent the great number of human fatalities and material damages.
