Concrete is one of the most used materials of today made up of aggregates, binders and water. It covers over 70% of building requirements and is applied in all complex constructions. For the production of concrete, high technology and knowledge of material properties are required. Recently, there is a growing tendency to use special types of concrete, one of them is a permeable concrete that passes a relatively large amount of water through the holes between the aggregate grains. Today, special attention has to be paid to what is being built and how nature is burdened due to the large urbanization of cities, so permeable concrete is an excellent solution for sustainable construction. Permeable concrete is characterized by a large portion of holes that can range from 15% to 30% of the total volume. It is also specific for none or a small proportion of small aggregates used which also increases its permeability. Due to its properties that allow rapid flow of rainwater and, consequently, lowers the cost of drainage systems construction this concrete is increasingly used in the world, while in Croatia it is not so well known and therefore is rarely used. This paper examines the influence of different types of fibers with different volume shares on the content of holes in fresh and hardened concrete, permeability of concrete, tensile strength and wear resistance of concrete. A total of 10 different mixtures were prepared and tested in the laboratory, and comparisons of the test results were given.
