Topic of this paper is the development of the main project of a family holiday home in Gabonjin, Dobrinj municipality on the island of Krk. The place is ideal for a holiday because its natural resources, which make it especially attractive to tourists The first part of this paper gives examples of historic houses described in several lines about their volume, the organization of the premises and their connection and harmony. In addition, there are several examples of five star holiday homes in the island of Krk that can be found today at services such as Booking.com and Novasol. In accordance with the above examples and analyzing the offers of holiday homes and categorization, the need for the users, the organization of the premises and the meaning of the future family home have been defined. The project task itself is given by the investor in which his wishes are clearly defined and described. Then comes the analysis of macrolocation and microlocation for the future object, that is, Gabonjin and the island of Krk. An indispensable part is the documentation required for the building permit, which consists of the main design, accompanying permits and studies. The following is a rulebook on classification and categorization, which clearly defines some minimum conditions and modules to achieve the desired categorization of the object. At the end of the paper, the steps to the main phase of the project are outlined, accompanied by the blueprints necessary to obtain a building permit.
