This preliminary design presents solution and cost projection of traffic infrastructure of the access road to the water tank plot in cadastral municipality Batomalj on the island of Krk. After terrain analysis, at the location where the route of the road should be placed, it was decided that it is necessary to build a large longitudinal gradient of the road 15%, because naturally, the terrain has a step slope and it is necessary to adjust the shape of the road to the shape of the terrain. It is also possible to make a gentler slope of the road, but that would require a large construction work, which leads to high cost of construction. The project shows the construction and transport solution of the procedure as a whole, the situation, the longitudinal section of the road, transverse profiles, normal transverse profile, graphical representation of earthwork, and cost estimate of the entire procedure. The preliminary design was made according to the ordinance on basic requirements for the road design. According to the Law on Roads, the road which is being designed belongs to the unclassified roads. The road is designed for little traffic load and a small number of passages of vehicles per day. The aim of this thesis is to make a preliminary design and give cost estimates of a road with little traffic load, in a way that meets the technical, aesthetic and safety criteria established by regulations of the Baška Municipality Spatial Plan.
