This paper deals with the area of former Zagorje industry of woollen fabric (ZIVT) which is located in Zabok. This paper is devided into two parts. First part shows beginning and development of factory „ZIVT“ from the beginning of negotiations about building the factory ZIVT until to day or better to say until urban reallocation of this former factory. Zabok developed as a small settlement which was mentioned for the first time in 1335. until 1935. The only and most known building was st. Jelena´s church. Then the industrialist Milan Prpić came with the suggestion of starting woollen industry. After successfull negotiations and unstable business in the beginning it emerged into one of the leading woollen industries of the former republic. After the Croatian War of Independence financial problems started and the factory stoped working. Abandoned complex of buildings has been bought by „Tomek“ enterprise which decided to change the allocation of factory complex into the new urban center of the town. During 10 years this former factory became new center with different contents used by 10 000 people every day. Buildings are calssified into architectal and historical categories and having this in mind interventions have been done in order to change allocation which will fit urban contents. This is the first example of changing the allocation in Croatia. Not only this revived the part of the town but also preserved simbols of the factory, like chimney, building with arch constructions and buildings with shed-roofs. The second part of this paper is about the suggestion of changing the allocation of the former raw materials warehouse because this building hasn´t been urbanised yet. Since there are 3 secondary schools in Zabok, which have students from all over Croatian Zagorje, it´s allocation has been changed into dormitory.
