In this paper, the behavior of soil is investigated with a special emphasis on elastic soil, finite and infinite soil models, and the concrete beam that serves as the foundation for the crane. Elastic soil represents a fundamental concept in geotechnics, where the behavior of soil under load is modeled as elastic, with a linear relationship between stress and deformation. Key properties of elastic soil include the recoverability of deformations after unloading and the elastic limit, which marks the transition to permanent plastic deformations. Understanding these properties is crucial for the design of foundations, embankments, and other geotechnical structures, and engineers employ various mathematical and numerical methods to analyze the elastic behavior of soil. The finite elastic soil model is used to analyze localized deformations and stresses, while the infinite elastic soil model allows for the analysis of soil that extends to infinity, avoiding the influence of boundaries. Both models utilize principles of elasticity but are applied in different situations, depending on the specific loading conditions.
