The aim of this thesis is to give possible solution of arranging the upstream part of river Rječina where it flows through the village of Martinovo Selo. The area of revitalisation is situated in the province of Grobnik starting from the river bridge in Martinovo Selo until the river bridge called Luke on the mentioned river Rječina. We will be going through the procedure of revitalisation using the help of the Guide for Planning revitalisation of the watercourses in Croatia. The nature surrounding the stream of Rječina is untouched and there are no big changes planned of its landscape nor performances of bigger cnstruction work. The area of revitalisation will incude the upstream part of the river Rječina in a way of using its nature without demolishing and cutting trees, endangering its plants and animals. It is predicted to build wooden walking trail starting from the river bridge in Martinovo Selo until the river bridge Luke following the stream of the river Rječina on its right bank. The eco adrenalin park is also predicted to be built for the children that are regularly visiting the old Gašpar mill on the waterfall of Rječina in Martinovo Selo, but not just them, but also for the elderly who will enjoy in it. The part of the land will be used for installing benches and tables for relaxation with the possibility of camping and having barbecue at everyone's disposal to use. Furthermore, a playground for recreation- containing basketball, volleybal, badminton court and football field. Everything mentioned will be surrounded with the already existing trees in the area. Also predicted to built is a shelter for abandoned animals who will have access to the woods and grass fields just like humans do. On the great grass field towards the river bridge Luke it is planned to plant fruit trees and also install benches and tables. Apart from building mentioned wooden trail on the river's right bank, an enhacement and upgrade of some parts of the river's bank is also planned, according to the established need of doing so. Mentioned way of arranging the upstream part of river Rječina would attract people from the city who don't have an easy access to green surfaces for vacation, tourists and picnickers who would be gladly coming back to such a functional and quality arranged surface for their needs and the needs of their pets. The approach we will be using for the realisation of this project is conducted through „step by step“ method containing seven steps. In this thesis we will include four steps out of seven and the remaining steps will just be mentioned due to the lack of documentation and their complexity. The existing and the new state we would like to achieve will be described in great detail and presented with pictures.
