The management of a construction, such as the maintenance plan and damage repair, has a great impact on the construction’s service life. Damage causes can be divided into three categories: original defects, progressive deterioration, and damages from singular actions or events. The goal is point out the importance of maintenance and repair of bridges to prolong their service life. Every country including the Republic of Croatia has their own bridge maintenance system. Croatia’s system is called HRMOS and it is based on the danish maintenance system, DANBRO. A significant part of the maintenance process includes regular inspections. During an inspection, the state of all parts of the structure is registered and damages are logged. The inspection scope depends on the type of inspection. Depending on the type of damage, the engineer who carried out the inspection proposes the type of repairs, points out the damages that have to be repaired without delay, and notes non-urgent repairs. This paper presents all the bridges over the river Sava in the city of Zagreb, along with their description and repair examples over the years.
