The topic of this final paper is railway-road and pedestrian crossings in Primorsko- goranskoj County. The paper itself provides an explanation of what a railway-road crossing is, the way in which they are secured, the types of crossings are listed, and the existing and possible solutions for their reconstruction and improvement in the area of PGŽ are presented. Defining the term railway as a transport system in which wheeled vehicles are forced to follow a precisely determined path, the question arises as to how means of transport of such length and mass move on the rails? The above answers lie in the technical performance of smooth and hard wheels that move on a smooth surface, which ultimately represents a small rolling resistance that is approximately ten times less than the resistance of road vehicles. This is an advantage that enables the movement of such lengths and masses that no other means of land transport has yet succeeded. Considering the importance of the safety of other traffic participants, it is important to adopt and define safety laws and regulations at railway-road crossings. In accordance with the adopted regulations, future and existing rail-road crossings are being built and improved, and in the continuation of this work, examples of existing PGŽ crossings and their possible reconstruction solutions will be highlighted in order to improve safety on them.
